CARAH RONAN, CUSTOM PASSAGE PROGRAM 2007
“Upon returning from Nepal and my Custom Passage project in the Khumbu, I finished my last semester of graduate school and my film on the Sherpa women of the Khumbu Valley. “Sherpa, Sherpa” is currently being sent out to film festivals across the nation and I look most forward to sharing it with my host family from Khumjung who are currently visiting the US. Based in Bozeman, Montana I continue to work on various documentary film projects, as new ideas are always filling my head, working also for Mystery Ranch Backpacks. I have become involved in Terrapod workshops across the state of Montana. These workshops put video cameras in the hands of jr. high and high school kids across the state and I am fortunate to be able to aid in teaching them the fundamentals of filmmaking. The kids produce their own films base around various science topics and upload them to our website, where they are viewed by their peers and anyone hoping to learn more about the world in which we live!
It is an exciting new project sure to fill many of my days to come. It has been a year now since I was in Nepal and there is not a day that goes by that I don’t reflect upon my experiences while I was there, the people are unforgettable and the experience keeps the passion of filmmaking burning in me.”
