CARA NICHOLL, TIBETAN SUMMER 2007
CARA NICHOLL, TIBETAN SUMMER 2007
Cara took part in all the workshops, events, activities and excursions with great enthusiasm. “…everyone was very supportive and knowledgeable and I felt completely safe and secure. Knowing this made my trip 100% better.” Is her comment on program support services.
Passage continues to take interest in our students’ paths into the future. Cara is about to graduate and this is what she writes:
“Since leaving from Nepal, I have completely immersed myself in schoolwork. As I am a senior Religious Studies major, I had to decide on a topic for my senior thesis and I quickly chose Tibetan thangka paintings and deity yoga, which is a topic that I love.
One of the most significant highlights of my senior year came with my trip to Egypt. I would have loved to get to know Cairo better, since it reminded me so much of Kathmandu.
I recently got accepted into graduate school at the University of Washington as well. Before I left for Nepal, I was leaning towards applying to graduate school to train for a career in the Middle East and working to solve problems there. Since leaving Nepal, I knew I definitely wanted to study South Asia, not only to help out, but also to possibly live in Nepal one day. Hopefully this dream will become a reality!”
